Today we went for an around 3 hour bike ride in Fredericton after hitting the Boyce Farmers Market. (We also drove to Fredericton from Manic Organic so there’s some pictures of the sky from the drive because I’m fucking obsessed with the sky). Everything was so gorgeous. Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick, but it doesn’t feel like a capital city, like Boston, like I’m used to. Yes, there are definitely more people than there were around the farm, but it’s still not that much. So it is incredibly peaceful. Even the public trails in the heart of the city, which, if they were in Boston would be packed on a Saturday afternoon, were relatively quiet. We were able to ride two abreast of the majority of the ride because we would only pass maybe a person every 2 few minutes. The views were insane! I swear we came really close to running a few people off the paths because we were just staring at the sky and the beauty around us. Everything is so clear up here, and especially today where the sun was peeking through, but the impending rain clouds were making themselves know – it was just the perfect day for a nice long bike ride with no timeline, no agenda, and no destination other than back to the airbnb at the end.
We crossed this really cool old footbridge, ended up in a swamp, and passed by some really fucking nice houses and yards, and just had endless views of the sky over the St Johns River. Would 100% recommend to anyone that they go to Fredericton on a Saturday to be able to go to the farmers market, and bring or rent a bike – or even just walk – along the New Brunswick trail by the water.
